BACKGROUND: Over here!

PERSONALITY:
Who would have ever thought the blood that flows through your veins could bring your own torment? Born to Emhyr var Emreis, Emperor of Nilfgaard, her lineage has always been a source of conflict in her life. In her family tree, she was a descendant of the Elder Blood, a coveted status that not many had. The Elder Blood was almost of legend, experiments by the elves ensured that "those in whose veins the infamous Hen Ichaer flows are said to carry death and destruction within them". Ciri is an extraordinary young woman with powers that can bend space and time if fully realized. From the very beginning, Ciri was destined for a life of importance, power and potential. It's a sad reality that despite being a young girl, her entire life has been nothing but an endless chase.

One of Ciri's biggest traits is her habit of running. Not in some cowardly way — quite the opposite! Her entire life has been full of fighting for her own independence, defending herself from those who wish to abuse her powers and growing into her own when no one else could help her. She's selfless enough to shoulder her problems and try to tackle them herself — stubborn enough to think that works. Despite her poor upbringing which involves the Slaughter of Cintra (which was a horrible massacre on the people of Cintra and nobles alike), Ciri surrounded herself with people who properly trained her to protect herself and fend off beasts. Sadly, there's some things that she can't fight away. Who she is and what her powers are still haunt her. It drives a wedge between herself and a 'normal' life that seems so unobtainable.

It's important to understand that even if she's considered flighty, she's not fearful. The truth for her removing herself from situations that could be harmful to her lies in her own confidence. Ciri is a capable fighter, trained by some of the best Witchers (monster hunters) and sorceresses in their world. Her solutions are to handle her problems alone, to persist when the ones that she cares for are put into harm's way. One thing Ciri strives for is true freedom (from her noble obligations and from her tie with the Elder Blood). The girl has been through so much trauma in her life; the only thing she fears is losing her loved ones. She is shown to not take loss well, visibly shaken and tormented enough at the death of Uncle Vesemir that she unleashes unbridled power.

Truthfully, her reason for running is solely to protect those who she cares about. This fierce loyalty is partial not only to Geralt and Yennefer (her adoptive parent-figures), but their allies and the Witchers that raised her. If given the chance, she would fight anything or anyone that opposes her, but her soft heart towards those who have shown her kindness leads her to run far from those who want to help her with her problems. She becomes appreciative of people who help her fairly easily — one such example is Skjall. Upon being washed ashore on Hindarsfjall, an injured Ciri was taken in by Skjall. To make a long story short, he assisted in protecting Ciri from The Wild Hunt (a being which endlessly pursued Ciri in Witcher 3) at the cost of his own life. In such a short amount of time, upon eventually learning of Skjall's death, she did what was honorable and cleared Skjall's name as a coward, making his sacrifice known to his village. She values kindness, honesty, and the chance to do good, all traits she aligns with her close circle of friends.

This need to protect others extends to her skill in monster hunting. She takes on tasks to assist others, not for some selfish thrill of the kill. The ending Ciri is from focuses on her coming into her own, being trusted by Geralt to be a woman capable of handling herself and fighting for her own destiny. She becomes a full-fledged Witcher (sans mutations) that focuses her efforts on keeping the land as peaceful as it can be from supernatural and monster foes. She wants to do good — to ensure no one faces the horrors she did. Her entire life was filled with the expectation that she would find misfortune. The only carefree moments she had was training with the Witchers at Kaer Morhen. She had a family and for that brief moment, she discovered what it was like to do good in the world. To sacrifice that in order to protect them...? It took insurmountable strength.

Bundle the above traits together and you have someone who is undoubtedly headstrong. As the only child in Kaer Morhen, she was also spoiled by the group. A quick study and proficient in her defense classes, Ciri was a small prodigy growing up among the Witchers. Being around them instilled her own stubbornness and inability to say no to a challenge. She actively jumps into battle with monsters, calculating her moves while fighting — something that makes Geralt a proud-Witcher papa. While her life could have turned out far differently, more suited for the princess of Cintra, she stubbornly refuses and stays on the run. It is here that she and Avallac'h, an elven sorcerer helping her run from the Wild Hunt, decide to finally prepare to face him. Destiny would have her run for her entire life or succumb to the curse of her Elder Blood, but Ciri has other solutions. She's eager to fight back — to finally come to terms with her own fleeting nature and make a final stand. She gets into arguments quite often with those who disagree with her, including her adoptive family and the Witcher pack because of her own self-assurance. When that's all you have to keep looking forward to the next day? You hold on close to it.

Unfortunately, a few negative traits also rear their head. She's quick to throw sass and anger out, fueled by her own despair. Ciri is emotional at times, lashing out with rage and anger that festers in her own bitterness. She's not a team player unless it is close allies who offer her critical feedback and assistance. Her attitude to burdening her own concerns makes her bottle most of her feelings inside until they're ready to burst from her. There are times where she is able to act her age, to be a mischievous and playful young woman, but most of the time she is bound to chasing her own freedom. Only now has she finally found it.

ABILITIES:
The importance of Ciri to the plot of the Witcher can easily be reflected in the abilities she possesses. She has both skill/training in being a Witcher and sorceress, although the later is more complicated. Ciri is the product of three things: a noble birth, a toughened upbringing, and a pool of untapped potential. With that, her skills are vast.

To begin with, Ciri is a capable fighter skilled primarily in swordplay. She's fast in every sense of the word - from thinking to movement, making her a formidable foe to square off again. Her swordsmanship is showcased quite easily with how much she "shows off" while fighting. From a flip of her sword, to even fighting blindfolded in her youth, Ciri is a showoff and comfortable wielding her steel. Due to her training with the Witchers, she is able to carry herself not only in battle, but in strategic moments as well. She's willing to study to learn enemies — what their weaknesses are and how to properly prepare to do battle against them.

Unfortunately, she's unable to fully harness her magical capabilities that would align her more with the sorceresses in her world. Trainers like the Sorceress Lodge or Avallac'h are the only ones capable of truly helping her use these abilities. It is possible under extreme circumstances and concentration, which is why I'm noting.

However, there are abilities she is shown to have possession of and use actively:

- Blink - Ciri's main ability is utilizing time/space to have her "blink" in bursts of movement. She leaves behind a momentary blue/green blur behind her as she dashes small-moderate distances. This allows her to be agile in battle and attack enemies from behind within a mere second.

- Time & Space Powers (Teleporting/Multidimensional World Jumping) - Unlike her Blink ability, she can warily teleport longer distances and even teleport to other worlds/dimensions. The Elder Blood in her veins have given her significant gifts, and yet... she's unable to fully control them. She's teleported in panic long-distances and mentioned that she is able to hop to worlds (like a cyberpunk world). Unfortunately, there is not much expansion yet on her powers, just the fact they're not particularly well trained. The potential to be the most dangerous being in existence is there, but without training or understanding of her powers, she can't control them. (Note: feel free to nerf any long distance teleporting/world-hopping.)

- Scream (Energy Burst) - To further prove her unlimited/unspecified powers, during one instance in the game she unwillingly lets out shockwaves and blasts of kinetic energy after losing someone dear to her. This energy is strong enough to cause damage to stone and older structures of buildings. As powerful as it is, she has no control of it. It is significantly likely she will activate this ability in times of major stress.

INVENTORY:
- Her clothes
- Her Silver Sword, Zireael

HATHAWAY.
SUITABILITY: Ciri is all about action. She wants to be involved, to make a difference. Confidently, she believes her skills are best suited for things such as fieldwork. By being able to make a difference and protect (loved ones, innocents, etc...), she won't have issues enlisting with Hathaway. She is use to adapting to whatever situations present themselves and since this would keep her moving, it's better than being idle.

INCENTIVE: The disarmament of the Nilfgaardian military and politics by Hathaway involvement. This would allow their world to be more balanced, removing the aggressors in many wars and battles. By doing this, Ciri hopes Emhyr var Emreis is removed from power and less bloodshed is spilled across the lands.

SPECIALIZATION:
1. BRUISER because Ciri is always ready for a fight. She burdens herself with playing the protector role to keep those she values safe. It wouldn't be uncharacteristic for this to apply to her specialization as well.

2. NEGOTIATOR: Ciri is very well spoken and blunt when needing to be. She's not perfectly suited for this role because she has a habit of believing her way is right, but there's something about a girl and her conviction that can do wonders. At times, she stubbornly is able to talk shop and get things done when needed.
